"Art of time”
It is a craft that requires great skill and patience. Crafts of carving the shiny mother-of-pearl into small pieces inlaying them on wooden table one by one and finished with glossy natural ottchil lacquer as an adhesive and water proof.

The natural ottchil lacquer coating process, in which 10 layers of lacquer must be repeatedly applied and left to dry, requires great patience. After the lacquer is dried, the work is polished with sandpaper to smoothen the layer and design and create shine.

What is Ottchil Lacquer?
Ottchil is a Korea traditional natural paint made by refining the sap collected from the lacquer(Ott) tree. If the refined Ottchil is applied 7-8 times on the wood, water does not seep into the wood and the urushiol component in the Ottchil has an antibacterial effect. After drying, only the antibacterial effect remains, enhancing the durability and functionality of wood products.
